As part of the project Future Move: Romania – Development opportunities through dance for young people, various workshops took place in romania . The implementation was carried out in cooperation with the Romanian Association for the Promotion of the Performing Arts “Asociația Română pentru Promovarea Artelor Spectacolului (ARPAS)” and the cooperation partner People’s Centre for Research and Documentation “Centrul Popular de Cercetare și Documentare (CPCD) Vizurești “, (village, 40km away from Bucharest).

The young people from the Roma community who regularly participate in dance workshops and other activities at the CPCD in Vizurești travelled together to Bucharest and visited cultural institutions such as the National Centre for Dance “Centrul Național al Dansului București” (CNDB) and the Centre for Educational Theatre Replika “Centrul de Teatru Educațional Replika”. Here they took part in trainings and got a deeper insight into possible trainings and professions in the field of dance.

Project duration: 01.07-31.12.2023.

At the end of September, choreographer Bahar Meriç, chairperson and founder of Future Move e. V. and the mentoring programme “Future Move – Career Prospects for Young Dance Professionals” travelled to Romania.

Together with ARPAS, she visited the cooperation partner Goethe-Institut Bucharest and offered a dance workshop in Vizurești at the CPCD.

At the end of October, an expert meeting with guests from Romania and Germany will take place at the Goethe-Institut. During this meeting, the possibilities and opportunities of an international European mentoring programme will be discussed.

The project Future Move: Romania – Development opportunities through dance for young people is implemented by the above mentioned Romanian Association for the Promotion of the Performing Arts ARPAS. Project partners are Future Move e.V., CPCD, CNDB, Replika, with the kind support of the Goethe-Institut Bucharest. The cultural project is co-financed by the Romanian National Cultural Fund Administration / Administrația Fondului Cultural Național Romania (AFCN). The project does not necessarily represent the position of the administration of the National Cultural Fund. AFCN is not responsible for the content of the project or for the way the results of the project can be used. The executing agency ARPAS has the sole responsibility of funding.
